Artistic Wood Expressions

Mark took his first wood turning class back in high school and gained a
sincere admiration for both the process of turning but also the satisfaction in
creating art. However, it was not until retiring as a firefighter, he decided to
take some more classes in pursuit of a hobby. The joy of discovering each
piece of wood's potential as a piece of fine art drives his newfound passion.

He continues to take classes to further develop his skills as an artistic wood
turner.  He has had the privilege to study at John C. Campbell School in North
Carolina as well as from many master wood turners at symposiums
throughout the southeast.

Mark enjoys working with many types of American wood species including
Maple, Cherry, Box Elder, Champhor, and Hickory. He also enjoys turning
exotic woods. In turning, Mark seeks to highlight the unique grain, shape and
color of each piece.

Take pleasure in the distinct character and beauty of Mark's artistic wood
expressions.

Mark's motto is "Turn it, don't burn it!"
